File Formats

ICO (Icon) is an image format used for icons in Microsoft Windows. ICO files can contain multiple sizes of an icon (like 16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 256x256) in a single file, making them ideal for application icons and favicons. Use our PNG to ICO converter to create ICO files.

A favicon is the small icon displayed in browser tabs and bookmarks. While favicons traditionally used ICO format, modern browsers also support PNG and SVG. Our Favicon Generator creates all necessary formats for maximum browser compatibility.

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's image format used on iPhones and iPads. It offers better compression than JPEG but isn't widely supported on Windows. Use our HEIC to JPG or HEIC to PNG converters for compatibility.

AVIF is a modern image format offering excellent compression with high quality. It's ideal for web use as it significantly reduces file sizes. However, older browsers may not support it. Use our JPG to AVIF converter, but also provide fallbacks for older browsers.

Most tools accept files up to 15MB. For larger files, we recommend using our PNG, JPG, or GIF compressors first to reduce the file size.

Using Our Tools

When using our PNG to ICO converter, you can select multiple size options (16x16, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64, 128x128, 256x256). All selected sizes are embedded in a single ICO file, ensuring your icon looks sharp at any display size.

Use our Favicon Package Generator to create all necessary favicon files including ICO, PNG in multiple sizes, Apple Touch Icon, and Android icons. The generator also provides the HTML code to add to your website.

Yes! Our GIF Frame Extractor lets you extract individual frames from animated GIFs. You can download single frames or all frames as a ZIP file. Perfect for creating still images from animations.

Our Image Resizer uses high-quality resampling algorithms. For best results when enlarging, use our Image Upscaler which uses advanced algorithms like Lanczos to minimize quality loss.

This can happen when converting between formats with different compression methods. For example, converting a highly optimized JPEG to PNG may increase size. Use our compression tools like Compress PNG to reduce the file size after conversion.

Troubleshooting

First, check that your file is within the size limit and in a supported format. Try refreshing the page and uploading again. If the problem persists, try a different browser. Still having issues? Contact us with details about the error.

This is usually caused by popup blockers or browser settings. Check if your browser blocked a popup, disable any ad blockers temporarily, or try right-clicking the download button and selecting "Save link as...".

Windows caches icons, so changes may not appear immediately. Try clearing the icon cache by restarting Windows Explorer or your computer. Also ensure you included the correct sizes in your ICO file - 256x256 is recommended for modern displays.
