Many of our tools do all the work inside your browser. With those, your file never leaves your device.
When a tool needs our server, the file is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection and used only for the conversion or edit you asked for. Uploaded files and results are deleted automatically - on most tools within 1 hour, and never later than 4 hours (a few tools keep your download ready that long).
We do not look at, keep copies of, sell or share your files.
Some icon tools have a box you can tick to show your new icon on the Recently Converted Icons page. It is off unless you tick it.
Icons you choose to share are public, so please do not share anything private or confidential. Want one removed? Contact us.
We collect as little as possible. You never need an account.
When you use the contact or feedback form, we receive what you type (your name and email where asked, and your message), plus your IP address and browser details to help fight spam and fix problems. Reports sent from our "page not found" screen include the address you tried and your note.
For each conversion we count which tool and file formats were used, the file sizes, your country and the type of device (desktop, mobile or tablet). These statistics contain no names, email addresses or files.
Like almost every website, our server keeps standard logs (IP address, browser, pages requested and time) for security and troubleshooting. We also count requests per IP address for a short time to block abuse.
The contact and feedback forms use a session cookie so the spam protection works. Your dark mode choice and your Lost Icon Rush scores are saved in your own browser, not on our servers.
We show ads from Google. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and turn personalised ads off in My Ad Center.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools keep working.
We never sell your data. We only use a few services that help run the site:

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU or UK under the GDPR), you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can also object to how it is used or complain to your data protection authority.

The whole site uses HTTPS, uploads are kept in protected folders and cleaned up automatically. No system is perfectly secure, so please avoid uploading highly sensitive documents.
ConvertICO is a general-purpose tool site and is not aimed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
