How to replace a color in an image

  1. Add your image. Drop one or more PNG, JPG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF or BMP images, paste one from the clipboard, or try a sample. Nothing is uploaded.
  2. Pick the color to replace. Click the color in the preview or choose it from the colors found in the image.
  3. Choose the new color. Pick any color or Transparent, then choose Flat fill or Keep shading and adjust the tolerance.
  4. Download. Save as PNG, JPG or WEBP. Several images download together, three or more as one ZIP.

Ideas and tips

  • One product, every color. Recolor a t-shirt once, save the changes as a preset, then load it with a different new color for each variant.
  • Match your brand. Swap the colors of an icon or illustration to your brand palette - build one with the AI Color Palette Generator or the Color Wheel.
  • Only one area. Two red cars and you only want one blue? Choose Connected area and click the car you want.
  • Cleaner edges. If a thin outline of the old color is left, raise Tolerance a little or Edge softness a little.
  • Smaller files. Photos save much smaller as WEBP or JPG. For the right size on social media, finish in the Image Resizer.

Yes. Pick Transparent as the new color and save as PNG or WEBP to keep the transparency. JPG has no transparency, so the cleared areas are filled with the matte color you choose.

Tolerance sets how close a color has to be to the one you picked to be replaced. At 0% only that exact color changes. Raise it to take in lighter and darker shades and anti-aliased edges.
