GIF Enhancer

Improve your GIF quality without changing dimensions. Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness to fix dark or dull animations. Unlike the GIF Upscaler, this focuses on color and clarity. Combine with the GIF Color Adjuster for cinematic grading, or compress afterward to keep file sizes small.

How to Enhance a GIF

  1. Upload your animated GIF by dragging it onto the page or clicking to browse - up to 25 MB. Switch to Batch mode to process multiple files at once.
  2. The live preview shows your enhancements in real time as you move sliders. Toggle Compare to drag a divider between before and after.
  3. Pick a quick preset like Auto, Vivid, or Night Fix as a starting point, then save your own with the Save button.
  4. Fine-tune brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, and gamma. Use Undo/Redo (or Ctrl+Z) to step through your history.
  5. Adjust Playback Speed to slow down or speed up the animation in the same step.
  6. Click "Enhance GIF" and download. Continue in GIF Color Adjuster for cinematic grading, then compress to reduce file size.

What Each Control Does

Brightness - Contrast

Fix dark or overexposed GIFs. Works great before the GIF Color Adjuster for full cinematic control. Night Fix preset combines both for dark scenes.

Saturation - Hue

Boost or reduce color intensity. Hue shift rotates the entire color wheel for quick color corrections. Set saturation to 0 with the B&W preset for grayscale.

Sharpening - Blur

Sharpness enhances edge definition frame by frame. For best results with sharpening, upscale your GIF first, then apply sharpness here.

Gamma - Denoise - Speed

Gamma corrects midtone exposure; noise reduction smooths compression artifacts. Speed control changes frame delay without re-encoding frames. After enhancing, compress to keep file sizes small.

Creative Uses

Restore Old GIFs

Boost brightness and normalize to instantly improve faded vintage animations from the early web.

Social Media Ready

The "Social Pop" preset boosts saturation and sharpness for eye-catching posts. Then use GIF Compressor before uploading.

Batch Style Matching

Save your settings as a custom preset and apply the same look consistently to entire batches from GIF Maker.

Adjust Speed

Slow down to 0.25x for dramatic slow-motion or speed up to 4x for snappy social clips - all in one step without separate tools.
