About PNG to JPG Conversion
PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is a lossless image format that supports transparency and is ideal for web graphics, logos, and illustrations.
JPG/JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) is a lossy compression format best suited for photographs and complex images with many colors.
Converting from PNG to JPG may reduce file size significantly, but will remove transparency and may slightly reduce image quality depending on the compression settings.
How to Convert PNG to JPG Images
- Upload your PNG image by dragging and dropping or using the file browser
- Adjust the quality slider (higher values mean better quality but larger files)
- Click the "Convert to JPG" button
- Download your converted JPG file
JPG Quality Settings
The quality setting affects the compression level of the JPG image:
- 90-100%: High quality, minimal compression, largest file size
- 70-89%: Good quality, balanced compression, medium file size
- 50-69%: Medium quality, noticeable compression, smaller file size
- 0-49%: Low quality, heavy compression, smallest file size
Important Notes
- JPG format does not support transparency. Transparent areas in PNG will be converted to white.
- JPG uses lossy compression, meaning some image data is permanently lost during conversion.
- For photographs and realistic images, the quality loss is often imperceptible at high quality settings.
- Text and sharp edges may appear slightly blurry in JPG format compared to PNG.
