Right-clicking a photo on X saves the Large or Medium copy. This tool gets the Original by default.
Need a smaller file for email? Compress JPG shrinks it without visible loss.
Copy the link of the post (Share > Copy link), paste it into the box and press Get photos.
Keep the size on Original - that is the file exactly as it was uploaded, often far larger than what the timeline shows. Then press Download.
Yes. A post can hold up to 4 photos, and all of them are ticked for you. Press Download - one or two photos come as separate files, three or more as one ZIP.
Photos from a quoted post are listed too, marked "Quoted".
Paste the profile link (x.com/username) or just @username. You get the profile picture in its original size - not the small circle - and the header banner at 1500x500.

X keeps several sizes of every photo. Original is the uploaded file and can be bigger than 4096 pixels. 4K caps it at 4096, Large at 2048 (what you see when you open a photo), Medium at 1200 (the timeline) and Small at 680.
The real file size of each choice is shown before you download.
You can still save the video cover image here. To save the video itself, use the Twitter Video Downloader; for GIFs, the Twitter GIF Downloader saves them as a real GIF or MP4.

No. Posts from protected accounts are only visible to their approved followers, so no downloader can reach them. Public posts work without logging in.
