How to Convert Excel to PDF

Add your spreadsheets. Drop one or up to 20 files (XLSX, XLS, ODS or CSV) into the box, or browse for them.

Choose the fit. Keep Fit to page width, or fit each sheet on one page, or keep the page setup saved in the file.

Fine-tune the layout. Optionally switch to landscape, pick a paper size, print gridlines or convert only one sheet.

Convert and download. Press Convert to PDF, check the preview, page count and size, then download the PDF or a ZIP.

Which Fit Should You Pick?

The fit decides how your rows and columns land on paper.

A very long sheet on One page can become too small to read - switch to Page width for those.

What Gets Converted

LibreOffice Calc opens the workbook the same way a desktop spreadsheet app does.

Charts and shapes

Bar, line, pie and other charts are drawn as sharp vector graphics, together with images and shapes.

Calculated values

Formulas are recalculated and the results are printed. Number formats like 1,234.50, 12% and dates stay as you formatted them.

Look and feel

Fills, fonts, borders, merged cells and conditional formatting carry over. Hidden rows, columns and sheets stay hidden.

Tips for Better Spreadsheet PDFs

Set a print area in Excel (Page Layout - Print Area) and choose As saved to print only that range.

Repeat the header row on every page with Page Layout - Print Titles before saving.

Huge CSV exports? Landscape plus Page width keeps them readable. To just browse the data, use the CSV Viewer.

Need a picture instead? Turn the finished PDF into images with PDF to PNG or PDF to JPG.

Drop your XLSX, XLS, ODS or CSV file in the box and press Convert to PDF. The workbook is opened by LibreOffice Calc on our server, which recalculates formulas and prints every sheet the way a spreadsheet app would.

You then see the real page count, file size and a preview of the first page.

Wide sheets do not fit on one sheet of paper at 100% size, so they continue on the next page. That is why Fit to page width is switched on by default - all columns shrink onto one page width and the rows flow down.

For very wide tables also choose Landscape. Fit whole sheet on one page is great for dashboards and small reports.

Yes. Charts, cell colours, borders, merged cells, fonts and number formats such as currency, dates and percentages are rendered into the PDF. Formulas are calculated, so the PDF shows the results.

Very new Excel-only features (for example some dynamic array functions or custom add-ins) can show a different value - check the preview.

Yes. Under Sheets choose Active sheet (the tab that was open when the file was last saved) or First sheet. Hidden sheets are never printed.

Yes. Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe separated files are detected automatically and read as UTF-8, so accents and other alphabets survive. Switch on Gridlines to get a classic table look.

Yes. Add up to 20 files, order them with the arrows and choose Merge into one. Each workbook is converted and the PDFs are joined in your browser. Separate PDFs come as a ZIP when there are three or more.

Your file is uploaded over HTTPS and converted on our server. The upload is deleted straight after converting and the PDF as soon as your browser has downloaded it. Anything left behind is removed automatically within 4 hours.

We never read, share or keep your data.

Usually the workbook is password-protected, damaged, or not really a spreadsheet (for example a renamed file). Remove the password in Excel, save the file again and retry.

Very large workbooks can also time out - converting only the active sheet helps.
