How to convert HEIF to PNG

1. Add your HEIF files. Drop up to 50 HEIF photos into the box, or browse for them. They are decoded on your device and never uploaded.
2. Pick a PNG type. Standard is lossless and quick, Smallest packs the same pixels tighter, 8-bit makes tiny files. The size shown is measured from the real file.
3. Adjust if you like. Resize, rename, or turn on Keep EXIF to keep the date and location. Every option starts closed and shows its value.
4. Convert and download. Press Convert to PNG. One or two files download directly, more than two come as a ZIP.

Why convert HEIF to PNG?

Samsung, Google Pixel and many cameras can save photos as HEIF, and iPhones use the same container.

PNG is lossless, so it is the safest copy for editing, screenshots and graphics - every program reads it.

Tips

• Expect a bigger file. PNG keeps every pixel, so a photo can be 5-10 times the HEIC size.
• Just sharing a photo? HEIF to JPG is far smaller.
• Stickers and cut-outs keep their transparent background as PNG.

Date, camera, location and colour

• Removed by default. The PNG has no camera details, date or GPS location unless you turn on Keep EXIF.
• Location warning. When a photo has GPS coordinates, the page tells you before you share it.
• Colour. Phone photos are often in Display P3. Keep profile saves that wider colour; the default converts to standard sRGB that looks the same everywhere.
• Upright. Photos are turned the right way up, and the orientation tag is reset so no app turns them twice.
