How to merge M4A files

1. Add your M4A files. Drop two or more M4A files or voice memos into the box. AirDrop or email them from your iPhone first.
2. Put them in order. Drag by the handle, use the arrows, or press A-Z - voice memos named by date sort correctly.
3. Clean up. Turn on Even out loudness and Trim silence of each track for recordings made on the go.
4. Merge. Keep M4A (or pick MP3) and press Merge. The merged file downloads right away.

Voice memos recorded at different distances from the phone? Turn on Even out loudness and every part ends up at the same volume.

Where is the M4A made?

Browsers with a built-in AAC encoder make the M4A themselves. Elsewhere your files are merged on our server with FFmpeg and removed right after - or pick MP3, which every browser makes on the device.

M4A, M4B and AAC

M4A and M4B are the same AAC audio in an MP4 file - M4B is just the name Apple uses for audiobooks.

• Audiobooks - merge the parts back to back and rename the result to .m4b if your player wants that.
• Songs - Match keeps the bitrate of your best track (usually 256 kbps from iTunes).
• Podcasts - 96-128 kbps mono is plenty for speech.

Copy-protected iTunes songs (M4P) cannot be merged by any tool.
