How to download a GIF or video from Facebook

  1. Copy the Facebook link. On the post with the GIF or video, tap Share and Copy link (or copy the address bar).
  2. Paste it above. Paste the link into the box and press Get media. Videos, Reels, Watch and fb.watch links all work.
  3. Pick a format. Choose MP4 HD, MP4 SD or GIF - with your own size, frame rate and clip length.
  4. Download. Press Download. On iPhone use Save to Photos; on Android and PC the file is in Downloads.

Got the link from the Facebook app? It works the same way. For X posts, use the Twitter GIF Downloader.

Facebook GIFs are really videos

When someone posts a GIF on Facebook, it is stored and played as a short MP4 video. That keeps it small and smooth, but a plain download gives you a video, not a GIF.

Choose GIF here and we convert the best copy into a real animated GIF. Keep only the seconds you need, then fine-tune it in the GIF Resizer or GIF Cropper.

Which Facebook links work?

Videos and Watch

facebook.com/.../videos/..., facebook.com/watch/?v=... and video posts on pages.

Reels

facebook.com/reel/... and Reel share links - saved with sound.

Short links

fb.watch/... and facebook.com/share/... links are followed to the post for you.
