Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF (static), HEIC and HEIF up to 25MB each. Multiple files supported.

How to Add Watermarks

  1. Upload your images - drag and drop or click to browse. Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, static GIF, HEIC and HEIF formats up to 25MB each, and you can add several files at once for batch processing. Photos straight off an iPhone work as-is, though you can convert HEIC to JPG first if you prefer. Working from very large originals? Resize them before watermarking so the mark stays in proportion.
  2. Choose watermark type - select Text for custom text watermarks or Logo to upload your own image or logo as a watermark.
  3. Customize appearance - adjust size, opacity, rotation and position. Drag the watermark directly on the preview to place it exactly where you want, or pick one of the nine position presets.
  4. Download - save a single image or the whole batch as a ZIP. Choose your output format and quality: PNG for transparency, JPG for photos, or WebP and AVIF for the smallest files on the web.
Pro tip: Use the Tiling Pattern option to create a repeating watermark grid - perfect for protecting stock photos. After watermarking, run the result through our PNG Compressor or JPG Compressor to cut the file size, and if the photo shows a face, a licence plate or an address, censor those details before you share it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Simply click and drag the watermark directly on the preview image. Use keyboard arrow keys for fine-tuning (hold Shift for larger steps).

Turn on the Outline option in Text Settings and pick a contrasting outline color. A white text with a thin black outline (or vice versa) stays legible on both light and dark photos. You can also enable Shadow for extra depth.

Switch the watermark type to Logo, then choose your logo file. A PNG with a transparent background gives the cleanest result - if yours has a white box behind it, remove it first with our PNG Background Remover. Set the size and opacity under Appearance, then drag the logo where you want it on the preview.

Yes. Set up the watermark the way you want it, then click Save current in the Presets bar and give it a name. It appears as a chip you can click any time, and it stays in your browser after reloading. Four ready-made presets are built in: Photo credit, Bold brand, Tiled protection and Corner logo.

Tiling mode repeats your watermark in a grid pattern across the entire image. This is commonly used for stock photos to prevent unauthorized use.

Yes! Select multiple files when uploading. All images share the same watermark settings, and you can download them all at once.

No! All processing happens directly in your browser using JavaScript and the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.

You can upload JPG, PNG, WebP, static GIF, HEIC and HEIF images up to 25MB each. Animated GIFs are watermarked on their first frame and saved as a static image. If you need an animated result, try our GIF maker or video to GIF tools instead.

You can save as PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF, or keep the same format as your original. For web use, WebP and AVIF offer the best compression. GIF and HEIC inputs are watermarked and saved as a high-quality PNG, since browsers can't re-encode those formats directly. After downloading, you might want to compress PNG or compress JPG for smaller files, convert HEIC to JPG, or censor private details before sharing.
