GIF Collage Maker

Combine several animated GIFs into a single animated collage. Arrange them in a grid, a custom rows-and-columns layout, a hero layout (one big, the rest small), or a filmstrip, then fine-tune the gap, border, rounded corners and background color. You can mix in PNG or JPG images as static cells. Need to build the source GIFs first? Try our GIF Maker or Video to GIF, and see the GIF Merger if you'd rather blend or sequence GIFs instead. For still photos, use the Photo Collage Maker.

How to Make a GIF Collage

  1. Upload your GIFs by dragging and dropping or clicking the upload area. Add 2-12 cells - animated GIFs plus optional PNG or JPG images. New GIF? Make one with our GIF Maker or Video to GIF converter.
  2. Arrange the cells by dragging the thumbnails. In the hero layout, the first cell becomes the large one.
  3. Pick a layout: Grid, Custom (set your own columns and rows), Hero, Row, or Column filmstrip.
  4. Style it with the gap, rounded-corner and border sliders, and choose a background and border color - transparent backgrounds are supported.
  5. Preview live in the browser, then set frame delay and looping.
  6. Create and download your collage. Afterwards you can compress it, resize it, or convert it to MP4.
Pro tip: For a clean look, keep the gap small and match the border color to your background. To trim a GIF before adding it, use our GIF Cutter.

Layouts Explained

Grid

Auto-arranges every GIF in an even grid based on how many you add - 4 GIFs become 2x2, 9 become 3x3. All cells play at the same time. Best for balanced collages and social posts.

Custom

You choose the columns and rows. Set a 3x2 or 4x1 grid, or any shape up to 6x6, and drop GIFs into the cells in order. Great when you want precise control over the arrangement.

Hero

One large "hero" GIF with the rest stacked beside it. The first cell is the hero; reorder the thumbnails to change which GIF gets the spotlight. Ideal for a featured animation with supporting clips.

Row / Column

A filmstrip layout that places all GIFs in a single horizontal row or vertical column. Perfect for before/after strips, timelines, or tall stories designed for mobile.

Popular Use Cases

Reaction Grids

Combine several reaction GIFs into one shareable grid for chats and social media.

Before/After Strips

Line up progress clips in a row or column to show a transformation over time.

Featured Highlights

Use the hero layout to spotlight one animation with supporting clips beside it.

Mixed Media Boards

Blend animated GIFs with static PNG or JPG images for logos, labels or backgrounds.

Frequently Asked Questions

A collage arranges GIFs into a tidy grid, hero, or filmstrip layout with gaps, borders and a background, so each GIF keeps its own cell and they all play at once. Merging is broader - our GIF Merger can also blend GIFs with opacity, sequence them one after another, or add transitions. Use the collage maker when you want a clean multi-cell arrangement.

Yes. Pick the Custom layout and set any grid up to 6x6. The Grid layout instead arranges cells automatically based on how many GIFs you add, and Row/Column create single-line filmstrips.

No. Each cell is resized and center-cropped to fill evenly, so mixed sizes still line up neatly. If you'd rather control sizing yourself, normalize them first with our GIF Resizer.

Both are built in. Use the rounded-corners slider to soften each cell, and tick the transparent checkbox to drop the background entirely (great for overlaying the collage on other content). You can also set a border width and color per cell.

Yes. Add PNG, JPG or WebP images alongside your GIFs and they become static cells - useful for a logo, label or solid background tile. Just include at least one GIF so the collage animates.

Between 2 and 12 cells, each up to 10MB. If your collage ends up large, compress it with our GIF Compressor or convert it to MP4. Still having trouble? Please contact us and we'll be happy to help!
