How to Make a vCard QR Code

  1. Fill in your details. Add your name, phone with the country code, email, company, job title, website and address - only what people need.
  2. Style it. Pick your brand colour, rounded or dot shapes and an icon or logo in the middle.
  3. Check the scan. Contact codes are denser than links. The live scan check tells you if your design still reads easily.
  4. Download or print the card. Save the code as PNG, SVG or PDF, or open Printable business card for a single card or 10 per page with cut lines.

Making cards for a whole team? Load a CSV with first, last, phone, email, company and title columns into Many codes at once - every row becomes its own vCard code, ready to drop into your card design. The Bulk QR Code Generator starts with that panel open.

What a vCard QR Code Can Hold

Every field you fill in is saved to the phone as part of one contact.

FieldExampleTip
NameAna PopFirst and last name are stored apart, so phones sort the contact properly
Phone+40 712 345 678Add the country code so it dials from abroad too
Emailana@example.comOne tap opens a new email
Company and job titleStudio Pixel, DesignerShown under the name
Websiteanapop.comWe add https:// for you

We write vCard 3.0, the version every iPhone and Android phone reads. Each extra field makes the code denser, so skip what people will not use.

vCard Code or a Link to Your Profile?

A vCard code works offline and needs no website: one scan and the contact is saved.

The catch is that it is static - if your number changes, you need new cards. A link to a profile page can change later, but people have to open it and save you by hand.

Business Card Print Tips

At least 2 cm wide

vCard codes are dense. Keep the code 2 cm wide or more on a standard card, and leave its white border.

Dark on light

A dark code on a light card scans best. Check your brand colours in the Color Contrast Checker.

Cut lines included

The 10-up sheet puts the cards edge to edge, so one straight cut separates two cards.

Print at 100%

Turn off Fit to page in the print dialog, or the cards come out the wrong size.

Want your logo on the code? Cut it out with the PNG Background Remover first, then upload it under Logo. The card PDF keeps the code as sharp vectors, so print shops can use it as it is.

Frequently Asked Questions

A QR code that holds a contact card in the vCard format - the same format as a .vcf file. When someone scans it, the phone offers to save you as a new contact with your name, number, email and website filled in.

Yes. The camera app on iPhones and on most Android phones reads them and shows an Add contact button. Some older Android phones need Google Lens.

No - the details are stored in the code itself, so a new number means a new code. The upside: the code never expires and does not depend on any website.

If your details change often, put a link to a profile page in a code from the QR Code Generator instead.

Every field adds characters, and a long address or website adds a lot. Leave out what people do not need, or print the code bigger.

Without a logo you can also drop the error correction to M under Code type and error correction, which makes the squares bigger.

Yes. Open Many codes at once and load a CSV with columns such as first, last, phone, email, company and title. Each person gets their own code, named after them, in one ZIP with a list of what is inside - or printed on label sheets.

Pick 85 x 55 mm (the European size) or 3.5 x 2 in (the US size). Download one card per page, or 10 cards on an A4 or US Letter sheet with cut lines. The PDF is vector, so the code stays sharp at any print quality.

No. The code and the card are made in your browser by our own QR engine - your details are never sent to our servers.
