How to Extract Any Archive Online

  1. Upload your archive by dragging it onto the upload area, or click to browse. The format is detected from the file header automatically.
  2. Wait for extraction. The archive is decompressed in your browser using WebAssembly. Encrypted archives prompt for a password before extraction.
  3. Filter the file list if needed, then click Download All as ZIP for everything, or use per-row download icons for individual files.

Need to make an archive instead? Use the Archive Creator. Want to inspect contents without extracting? The Archive Viewer hub and 7Z Viewer let you browse and preview entries inline.

Supported Formats

This extractor uses a WebAssembly port of libarchive, the same library that powers many desktop archive tools. That means it handles every mainstream archive format and many obscure ones too.

  • ZIP - the universal archive format used everywhere. Includes ZIP64 for very large archives.
  • RAR (v4 and v5) - the proprietary RAR format created by WinRAR. Both encrypted and unencrypted RARs work.
  • 7Z - the high-compression format from 7-Zip. Supports LZMA, LZMA2, BZip2, and Deflate compression inside.
  • TAR family - TAR, TAR.GZ (tgz), TAR.BZ2 (tbz2), TAR.XZ (txz). The Unix tarball formats used for source code and Linux packages.
  • Single-stream compressors - GZ, BZ2, XZ, LZ, LZMA. Useful for individual compressed files.
  • Legacy and disk formats - CAB (Windows install cabinets), ISO (CD/DVD images).

Format detection works from the file header (magic bytes), so renaming an extension does not affect extraction. Drop a .7z renamed as .zip and it still works.
