How to Make Telegram Video Stickers

  1. Add your GIFs. Drop GIFs, MP4s, WebP or PNG files, browse for them or paste with Ctrl+V - or paste a Tenor, GIPHY or X link.
  2. Fit and trim. Pick Fit, Fill or Pad, then choose the 3 seconds to use - or switch Long clips to Speed up.
  3. Make the stickers. Press Make stickers. Each WebM is squeezed under 256 KB and checked against the Telegram rules.
  4. Publish with @Stickers. Download the pack, send /newvideo to @Stickers and upload each sticker as a file with its emoji.

Publish the Pack with @Stickers

Telegram packs are created by its official bot, @Stickers.

It takes about a minute for a pack of five.

  1. Open @Stickers and send /newvideo (or /newpack for static PNG stickers).
  2. Send the name of your pack - people see it when they add the set.
  3. Send the first sticker as a file, not as a video, then reply with one or more emoji. Repeat for every sticker.
  4. Send /publish, then the 100 x 100 icon from your download, or /skip to use the first sticker.
  5. Choose a short name. It becomes the t.me/addstickers/ link you can share.

Static stickers follow simpler rules: PNG or WebP, one side 512 px, up to 512 KB.

Fit, Fill or Pad?

Telegram stickers do not have to be square.

Fit

Keeps the original shape - a wide GIF becomes, say, 512 x 288.

Nothing is cropped and no space is added.

Fill

Fills a 512 x 512 square and crops the edges.

For a hand-picked crop, use the GIF Cropper first.

Pad

The whole picture on a 512 x 512 square with a margin around it.

Packs where every sticker has the same footprint look tidier.

Speed up

Fits more of a long clip into 3 seconds by playing it faster.

Up to 4x - great for slow reaction GIFs.

Tips for Great Video Stickers

Three seconds is short, so make every frame count.

  • Pick the best 3 seconds. Move Start to the moment that matters, or trim precisely with the GIF Cutter.
  • Make it loop. Telegram plays stickers in a loop, so a clip that ends where it starts feels smooth. The GIF Reverse tool can build a ping-pong loop.
  • Cut out the background. Transparent stickers sit nicely in any chat theme - try the GIF Background Remover.
  • Add a caption. Put text on the GIF first with Add Text to GIF.
  • Need a plain WebM? For a WebM that is not a sticker, use GIF to WebM.

Telegram video stickers must be WebM files encoded with VP9, with one side exactly 512 pixels and the other 512 or less.

They can be at most 3 seconds long, up to 30 fps and 256 KB, and must have no audio track.

By default the tool uses 3 seconds from the Start point you choose. Switch Long clips to Speed up to fit more of the clip into 3 seconds - up to 4x faster.

Static stickers go into a /newpack set - Telegram does not mix static and video stickers in one set.

Yes. VP9 WebM supports an alpha channel, so transparent GIFs, WebPs and PNGs stay transparent, and Fit and Pad add transparent space.

For a GIF with a solid background, remove it first with the GIF Background Remover.

Telegram shows a small icon for each sticker set. For video sets it must be a 100 x 100 WebM under 32 KB.

The tool makes it from the sticker you mark as the pack icon, and the bot asks for it after /publish.

Your files are only used to make your stickers. The upload is kept for a few hours at most so you can change settings without uploading again, then deleted automatically - Start over deletes it right away.
